Rover the Survivor

My Rover died today.
He was about 5 months and 2 days old.
He had dark grey fur with a little bit of white on his chest...
it looked as he was wearing a grey tuxedo.

I ran over him by my car when I wanted to go into the porch.
As usual, he would wait for me in front of the gate whenever I came back from work.
But today...he waited...I thought he was at the side of the porch.
Unfortunately...he went under the car and that when I realised that
the car I drove was like on a bump
which was actually Rover's body :(
I saw him running painfully and fell down on the floor
His urine came out and his legs were moving very fast
He was breathing heavily and suddenly he was quiet

I cried so hard while squatting next to Rover
My kids were speechless when they saw I cried
I'm so sorry Rover....really really sorry
I didn't mean to hurt you.

thank you for being with us
You really brightened our days
You were one amazing kitten
You loved to play especially with the kids,
Aqeel and Adnin really enjoyed your company,
Aqeel said you loved to play with strings, long sticks and bouncing ball
You even played with his sling bag
whenever he was about to carry it to the car to school,
Chasing with each other was also fun.

Sometimes you annoyed us,
you were nudged all the time whenever you wanted to enter the house

Sometimes you irritated us by giving us your sneeze fits
While sneezing on my foot,
at the same time, you will press your wet nose on it...euwww

The things I loved about you were;
You would seek for attention by rubbing your head to our legs
or even standing on your two hind legs like a dog in order to nuzzle
You always accompanied me while drying the clothes
and you would try to pull the clothes or try to get in the basket
You would eat whatever food I gave you,
definitely not a picky eater

Now life is so quiet without you
and I feel that there is nothing to look forward to when I come home from work
because, you will not be in front of the gate waiting for me anymore
and you will not be asking for food from me anymore
and I will not be thinking of putting aside some of my food or the left over for you
or thinking of what to feed you when there's no more cat food

And now I realised that
nothing last forever
" Inna lillahi wa inna 'ilayhi raji'un "
To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return
Amin....
